Indians in Malaysia

I’m sure many of you have read the circulated e-mail recently on the reasoning of why Malaysian Indians will never change in the near future. It has been also circulated in the once a famous site, www.friendster.com. I regret to inform that the publicity for this site has not grown but deteriorated. Anyhow, that is not the purpose of this blog, the purpose of this blog is to reason, analyze and examine the characteristics and attributes of most Indian living in Malaysia and what they want. The article or e-mail content that I read recently (probably 2 months ago) is about the materialistic and blind believing of Indians in here who assume that they are fighting for justice for Indians but actually not.

We have got about 3 million Malaysian Indians in here. Some of us are doing pretty well in our profession and business. However, there are many more that are not. They simply live with mere RM1000-RM1500 per month salary. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I seriously think the number I produce here are wrong. It could be much lesser. Using this salary in the ever hectic and fast moving Kuala Lumpur, you would probably live a bug’s life and to make matters worst, it is the world economic recession now.

Let us take for an example a man who lives in KL with RM1000 salary. He lives alone in KL. He needs to pay his room/house rent which could be about RM200. That leaves him with RM800. A man needs to eat, curse the one who gave hunger to men. Anyway, to eat 3 meals in a day in KL could come up to RM30. This gives him a total of RM900, which leaves him with –RM100. All right, all right, why do you need to eat 3 meals, lets cut it to 2 meals which makes it RM600 meaning he will have RM200 left in his pocket. Everyone has a hand phone. So the bill could be about RM50, which leaves him with RM150. How about transportation to go to work? Either own transport, or public transport. Say it’s a public transport that would cost about RM3 to go and come back which is a total of RM90-RM100 per month. Finally our chap here has got about RM50 in his savings. Entertainment? This is all for a man who has no commitments, how about those who do have a family to take care? What happens then?

Well, no one thinks about that. All we want is more temples so that we can go to temple, pray to god, and asking for help. No worries brothers and sisters, GOD will help you. Just do some prayers every Friday, put some coins in and you will be helped directly by GOD. Not forgetting festivals such as Thaipusam. We need to pump in a little bit more money and energy for Thaipusam as well. A gigantic Lord Muruga statue in Batu Caves plated with gold? Do we need that? Millions performing ‘archanai’ in Batu caves. Not sure on how much one cost, but it could be a mere RM10. Times that with millions?? Where does the money go?? Channel the money to one who needs for heaven sake.

Let me tell you a short story that a friend of mine told years back in my University. His dad was a Hindu. Went to India to experienced a ‘Kumba Abishagam’ which the opening ceremony of a temple. So much milk was poured on the head of the God statue and there were so many ladies with their small children begging for milk outside the temple. My friend’s dad converted to Buddhism after that. We are doing it all wrong my people. We are not channeling the money the right way. We are not fighting for the correct objective. We are just too blind to see this because we want an easy way out of this. The easiest way is to build more temples, so that GOD can protect us all. Get a hold of yourselves people. God helps those who help themselves. In other words, work to see the better of yourself. I am in no position to tell this I know, because I am not working hard enough and I know that for a fact. But guess what; this is my blog, so I shall write what ever strikes my mind. Haha!!

It is our mentality that brings us down. We are the blacks of the US. When we have the money, we get cool tire rims. We buy bling blings. We put in some extra speaker with awesome mp3/mp4/dvd players for our cars and blast the freaking music so that everyone on the streets can hear. When ever there is music, we start dancing regardless of the place. We get together, get drunk, get high on weed and start to fight. It’s a privilege to go to jail within the youths of Indian community in Malaysia. Don’t give me that look. I know that we all know what is written here is the truth. Welcome my fellow blacks of Malaysia. We are going to go through the economic recession. Yes we will, but the only fucked up part is that we are going to be hit the hardest and we are going to fall the deepest. Deep shit my friends….. Deep, smelly shit. Don’t be surprised if you read the number of suicide cases among Indians in Malaysia start to rise this year. After all, that is the only way to get out of a situation. I did not say that, but the Tamil movies, dramas and all show that. Keep watching and exercising them, you will one day find yourself in the graveyard, too late bro, you are already DEAD leaving the others depending on you in another deep shit. This is the life serial that goes on and on.

When are we to wake up?? When are we going to realize that only you can make a difference? Only you can call the shots. When? Makkal Sakthi did, but not sure for how long. There is only this much a political party can help us. That is politics. To hell with them. Strive for our success people. Keep up with the rest of the ethnics. Don’t compare yourself with someone doing worst than you. Compare yourself with someone doing better than you. Leap ahead of them and show that you can. Never have the thought that you are only one person. Even one makes a difference. When the world’s most powerful country can make a difference by electing a black president, why can’t we just start off by giving the college/university education for the children? If you can’t, don’t have one. You are not fit to have one. Being a man is not showing that you can produce babies, being a man is showing how well you brought them up.

Just before signing off, I’m not against GOD, temples or festivals. What I am saying is we do not need them solely to give us success. Dear, GOD if at all you can read English and happen to read this, tell me I’m wrong. Work your so called magic. Make me understand with your mysterious way. I would want to see you right through your eyes and ask one question. Why give us brains and yet make some of us follow you with the wrong impression?? A friend of mine told be something that he read somewhere recently. He said that in the future, there will be only one religion in the whole world. All other religion will be wiped out. Not sure how, but that’s what he said. The remaining 1 religion would therefore be the Muslims, and you know what I told him? I said.. ‘AT LAST!’ One religion with one teaching for the whole world. No more fighting’s, no more war in the name of religion and no more hunger. That’s more like it. Anyway, as for now, lets just keep our heads high and do something about ourselves that will give us success. ‘Yes, we can’- Barrack Obama, US President.
